As for me, Lord, my prayer to you is for a time of favor. In your abundant, faithful love, God, answer me with your sure salvation. —Psalm 69:13
We can always pray.
As in all good things, Jesus is the supreme example, demonstrating that a demanding schedule, disappointments and betrayals, and even the approach of death itself are reasons to pray more, not less. In the garden He prayed. On the cross He prayed.
So many of our dear brothers and sisters who are confined to their homes due to age and illness are active in prayer. Some of the kingdom’s fiercest intercessors are physically restricted but spiritually vital. If we had the eyes of heaven, we might see the Father positioning them at the frontlines of the battle. Suffering has sifted the superficial from the crucial, and they pray with a truer sense of urgency. They know that the day of the Lord is coming soon.
Let us thank God for these prayer warriors, and let us learn from them that nothing should keep us from praying.
