A Journey to Freedom

June 6, 2025 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive. —Colossians 3:13

Resentment may be a raging fire within you. Or it may be more like a dull ache. It may have become so familiar and habitual that you can’t remember what it was like to ever live without it. Or it may be so subtle and disguised that you don’t even recognize it for what it is. Regardless, you don’t have to go on that way. The choice to forgive will set you on a journey to freedom.

“Make sure,” the writer of Hebrews said, “that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up” (Heb. 12:15).

My earnest prayer is that every person who reads these words will obtain the grace of God—and that you will release every hostage you may be holding in the prison of your mind and emotions . . . and in so doing find yourself released as well.

This is God’s plan for you. This is God’s best for you. And this is God’s will for you. Forgiveness.
