Man: I don’t feel as close to God as I used to. That makes it worse because now when I try to pray I feel guilty, so I quit.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Have you ever felt that way? You’re not the first. Adam and Eve had an intimate relationship with God, but their fellowship was broken by sin.
Genesis 3 tells us: “The man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”
But thank God, there’s hope! God sacrificed an animal to make them clothes—a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. Because of His death, we can be restored to fellowship with God, no matter how far we’ve drifted away.
So if you’ve been far from God, why not repent? Trust in Christ’s sacrifice, and then spend time with the Heavenly Father who will never stop loving you.
