Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When we do something wrong, our tendency is to shift the blame to someone else.
Woman: Even when we got more involved, it still wasn’t as bad as what my husband was doing.”
Nancy: That’s called the “blame game.” And it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. God asked Adam, “Have you eaten from the tree?” Adam blamed Eve. When God asked Eve, she blamed the serpent.
But God wasn’t asking them what someone else had done wrong. He was asking each of them to take responsibility for their own behavior. And He asks us the same thing. People will hurt us and let us down, but that’s never an excuse for sin.
Here’s the good news: When we accept responsibility for our actions and admit our sin, we can be free through the blood of Christ. Do you have anything to make right before God?
