Meet the Revive ’17 Speakers: Dannah Gresh & Susan Hunt

This week, we’re getting acquainted with the speakers for Revive ’17, happening this Friday and Saturday, September 29–30. It’s not too late to connect with other women and make plans to watch Revive ’17 LIVE, our free Livestream of the conference!

Meet Dannah Gresh

Dannah Gresh is the founder of True Girl, a ministry that waves powerful banners of purity, modesty, and freedom from bondage amidst today’s secular and sexualized culture. She has written more than twenty books and also co-authored Lies Young Women Believe with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.

Dannah isn’t afraid to discuss difficult topics, and her passion for helping women walk in freedom from their sin is so desperately needed today. That’s why Dannah is tackling these subjects at Revive ’17:

  • Passionate About Purity: Pursuing Holiness in an Unholy World
  • Need Help Lovin’ That Man: Training Our Hearts for Relationship

I would recommend listening to this recent Revive Our Hearts program, “Why Your Family Is So Important,” to hear the way Dannah’s heart beats for marriage and family.

And to understand her passion for sexual purity, this message is excellent: “Three Truths About Purity,” a chapel message at Cedarville University, where Dannah is an alumna.

You can also read Dannah’s True Woman blog posts and listen to her messages to teen girls at our True Woman conference Teen Tracks.

You can follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Meet Susan Hunt

If we could name an honorary “Grandmother of the True Woman movement,” it would be Susan Hunt. She’s an author, a women’s ministry leader, and a precious example of Titus 2 biblical womanhood. (I’ve never met Susan, but she seems like the kind of southern grandmother who would mentor you on her front porch with glasses of sweet tea.)

Susan’s most recent book, Spiritual Mothering, paints a picture of Titus 2 mentoring in the Body of Christ. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth highly recommends this resource:

I do not know of anyone better qualified to write a book on spiritual mothering than Susan Hunt. This is a subject she has been passionate about and has modeled for many years. Susan has been an older woman in my life, and her example has encouraged me to embrace the calling of pouring my life into women of the next generation.

You can listen to Susan and Nancy discuss the book and the concept of intentional, life-on-life discipleship and ministry in this five-day Revive Our Hearts program “Spiritual Mothering.”

Susan has also contributed to our Leader Connection and True Woman blogs, offering valuable insight and biblical wisdom for women’s ministry leaders and mentors alike.

And before you write off the concept of spiritual mothering as something just for “super saints,” consider what Susan has to say in this Crossway article:

If you are a Christian woman who is seeking to grow in the faith and to live obediently, then you are qualified for spiritual motherhood.

At Revive ’17, Susan will address these topics with us:

  • Don’t Give Up on That Modeling Career: Aging Beautifully—at All Ages
  • Grow Up and Step Up: Teaching and Learning—Life-to-Life

We hope your excitement for Revive ’17 is building. And if you’re so inclined to share your excitement on social media, don’t forget to include the conference hashtag: #Revive17Indy
