Joplin, Hookups, Romance Novels, and More

Happy Friday, ladies! A couple months ago, I did an “A La Carte Tim Challies style” blog post. I’m following suit today, and would love some feedback. Do you like this kind of occasional post? With all the info in the world, we don’t take it lightly that you’re a part of this blog community. Helpful suggestions are always welcomed!

Hope After the Storm in Joplin

Chiree Bollinger, who helps produce many of our videos here at True Woman, lives just fifteen minutes from Joplin, MO, where the F5 tornado hit on May 22. Check out this short video she just produced, and keep praying for those affected! (When disaster strikes—whether in Japan or Joplin—we continue to be grateful for organizations like Samaritan’s Purse!)

Dannah Gresh’s Article on the CNN Belief Blog
The CNN Belief Blog featured an article by Dannah Gresh on May 31 titled “My Take: There’s Nothing Brief About a Hookup.” Last time I checked, there were 758 comments! I’m sure she would appreciate any of you who would take the time to leave a loving comment so readers know Dannah is not the sole Christian out there who believes sex is sacred!

Thabiti Anyabwile & Tim Challies on revive ’11
I love it when men get excited about great events and resources for women. Pastor Thabiti Anyabwile with The Gospel Coalition just posted about revive ’11 on his blog, calling it an “excellent investment.” I hear Tim Challies is talking about the conference on his blog today, too (as well as giving away a Kindle this Monday!). If you haven’t yet ordered your ticket to revive ’11, take advantage of the early registration price!

Can Romance Novels Hurt Your Heart?
Nancy Leigh DeMoss sent me a link to this article by Russell Moore, saying she thought this was an important issue. I totally agree. Pastor Moore asks, is what you’re reading leading you toward contentment with your spouse (or future spouse) or away from it? Read more here.
