The Friday Five: 12/04/20

  1. FOUR. That’s how many posts we have until The Friday Five ends, and I have a lot to share with you before then! Let’s start with the big announcement Laura Booz made on her blog this week: “Guess what?!” she wrote. “I’m partnering with Revive Our Hearts to create a podcast with short power-packed episodes about how God’s Word intersects with your everyday life. Each episode gives you a story plus Scripture you’ll never forget.” Listen to Expect Something Beautiful on ROH’s website (or in your favorite podcast app!), and then watch for a special Christmas episode to come later this month.
  1. “Where is your heart this Christmas? Is it time to let go of a tradition? In the midst of the season that celebrates Jesus’ birth, how full is the measure of your joy in Him?” In this post, Barbara Reaoch shares how you and your family can love God more than ever this month. If you missed her interview on Grounded, make sure you go back and watch, and if you’re looking for ways to lead your children to the One who is better-than-anything, grab a copy of Barbara’s newest family devotional.
  1. Friend, if you’re feeling weary as we end this week, here's an opportunity to spend time in the presence of Jesus. Every episode of Asheritah Ciuciu’s podcast, Prayers of REST, is an invitation to exhale the stress and fear and burdens we’re facing and inhale hope. I’m praying (right now!) that this episode will quiet your heart and remind you that heaven rules. (And if this program helps you, consider passing the link to someone who needs the same encouragement, especially this season.)
  1. Giveaway alert! If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know that book giveaways delight me to no end, and this one is certainly no exception. This week, we’re giving away three copies of Christina Fox’s brand new book, A Holy Fear: Trading Lesser Fears for the Fear of the Lord. To enter the giveaway, scroll down to the bottom of this post and follow the directions—the winners will be contacted when it closes. (As you wait to find out if you’ve won, enjoy this sneak peek of the book!)

Listings here do not imply endorsement of all writings and positions of the individuals mentioned.
