A Surprising Listen

When I first read Nancy’s blog post about the Hidden in My Heart CD, I didn’t think “Scripture lullabies” were for me. A couple months later when I received the CD as a gift from a friend, I was blown away, and I haven’t been able to listen to anything else since! This CD so ministers to my heart that I play it from early in the morning until it’s time for bed.

I am literally pouring Scripture through my heart and mind, washing myself in the Word throughout the day as I listen to the peaceful lyrics set to beautiful instrumentation. Sometimes it’s powerfully bold, then soothing and calm, but always inspiring.

My husband and I have different music tastes, so I thought he might not be able to put up with my new “worship companion.” But he loves it! My daughter also has a copy she’s playing for my new granddaughter, and I can’t think of anything better to be placing in her young heart and mind than God’s Word.

The CD opens with an invitation to “Be still and know that He is God” through the words of Psalm 37 and Psalm 46. As the musical journey through Scripture continues, I’m challenged by the words of Isaiah and Matthew to seek the Lord. My heart is filled with peace from Philippians. Hebrews comforts me with the promise that “I’m forever always with you–I will be right where you are.”

I can’t seem to determine which song I like best . . . whatever one is playing at the moment is my favorite! If you haven’t picked up this treasure yet, get one this month for your donation of any amount, and contribute to Revive Our Hearts’ fiscal year-end needs at the same time!
