Yaya's Prayers

Topics: Prayer

Woman: My grandchildren seem to be so far from God. I pray for them. Sometimes I even cry myself to sleep over them. I don’t know what else to do.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Whatever you do, don’t stop praying.

I believe my life is, in a sense, the product of a praying great-grandmother. I never met Yaya, my father’s Greek immigrant grandmother, but she was a praying woman. My dad’s cousin remembers times when Yaya would be on her knees praying as he went to sleep at night.

She was praying for the salvation of her children and grandchildren. On some mornings, he would wake up and Yaya would still be on her knees, having prayed through the night. I believe that my dad’s dramatic conversion in 1950 was an answer to Yaya’s prayers.

You may not know when or how God will answer your prayers, but don’t stop praying. Generations to come will be blessed.

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
