What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
Nancy: . . . and that made for a very romantic play. But as we look to God's Word, we see that names are significant. God sometimes changed people's names and told parents what to name their children. He made sure Moses told the people His name, YHWH, I Am. And He warns us in the Ten Commandments not to take His name in vain.
When I married Robert Wolgemuth, my name legally changed from Nancy Leigh DeMoss to Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. That's because I wanted my new name to reflect my new relationship.
Followers of Christ have a name that reflects our relationship with Him, too—we're Christians. We bear the name of our heavenly Bridegroom. So, by His grace, let's represent His name well.
