Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When we’re pursuing holiness, it means we won’t steal.
Woman: I’ve got that one covered. I don’t steal.
Nancy: Let me give you a few questions to help you evaluate the level of honesty in your life.
Have you borrowed anything you’ve never returned?
Woman: No. Uh, except about half the books and the rake and the shovel . . .
Nancy: Do you give your boss a full day’s work for a full day’s pay?
Woman: Well, I haven’t really kept track.
Nancy: Are you honest on expense reports? How about tax returns?
Woman: Uh-oh . . .
Nancy: Have you stolen the affections of someone else’s mate? Have you created any expectations you can’t rightly fulfill?
Woman: I guess I never realized that flirting is kind of like stealing.
Nancy: If you’ve been stealing, even in little things, Ephesians 4:28 explains what to do next: “He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands.”
