Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Are there exceptions to the commands of Scripture?
Woman 2: I can forgive anyone—except my ex-husband.
Nancy: As hard as it may seem from a human perspective, when God gives us a command, He also gives us the grace to obey. For example, that means we can forgive. We can love difficult people. We can give thanks in all things. We can be content in every circumstance.
The problem is that we often choose not to obey.
If you’re facing a tough situation today, ask God to be your strength and help. Depend on His supernatural power. As we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24: “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you...will surely do it.”
