I remember the day that an older friend took me aside and suggested that the dress I was wearing wasn’t real modest. Of course, I was really embarrassed at the moment. But today I’m so grateful that that friend was concerned enough to speak up. That became a marker in my life, and it helped me commit to a life of modesty.
Are you open to the input of other people? Your dad or a wise, godly man could have important perspective on how clothing affects guys. And older women could give good counsel, too, since they’ve seen seasons of fashion come and go.
