Horn of Salvation

Topics: Holidays

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: A little baby in a manger. Just be sure, when you see the baby in the manger, you don't forget Who’s actually lying there.

Zechariah: “[God] has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.”

Nancy: In Old Testament times, the horns of wild animals were often used in battle, wielded by a warrior attacking his enemies. So when Zechariah prophesied about the “horn of salvation” that God had “raised up,” he was declaring what this little baby in the manger was coming into the world to do—to defeat our archenemy.

Jesus is a powerful Savior and King—which is just the kind we need—because sin is powerful, and Satan is powerful. But no one and nothing in this whole world can defeat Him—this tiny baby in the manger.
