Leslie Basham: This is Seeking Him with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
Nancy: Here’s a little test to help us see whether we’re approaching God with honest hearts.
How would you answer these questions?
- Do you often participate in corporate worship and prayer while your heart is cold to the Lord?
- Are your prayers honest? Do you say words that you think will impress God, or do you tell Him what is really on your heart?
- When you pray in public, are you more aware of God’s presence, or do you focus on the other people listening?
- Do you see your sin as God sees it, or do you tend to think of sin as a weakness, a slip-up, or a personality quirk?
Psalm 51:6 says, “You desire truth in the inward parts.” Would you be willing to ask God to search your heart and show you anything that doesn’t please Him?
