Christmas Joy

Topics: Holidays

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: She was expecting a child in her old age. That was amazing enough. But when Elizabeth first saw her young, pregnant cousin Mary, something even more amazing happened.

Elizabeth: “When the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.”

Nancy: You know, Christmas can turn into a whirlwind of food to be baked and presents to be bought. That’s why we need to meditate on this verse from Luke chapter 1, where a tiny baby in the womb “leaped for joy” when he found himself close to God incarnate.

Why joy? Well, because of what God was doing to bring about the redemption of His people. Despair was being turned into hope! The great and glorious God of the universe was coming to earth as a Man!

So, how can you make this Christmas a season of greater wonder, worship, and joy?
