A Pillar of Cloud

Woman 1: I’d love to spend time praying and reading the Bible. But my kids don’t give me any chance to do it.

Woman 2: When I do get some time to be alone with God, I think it helps me handle 'mom' things better.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: It’s hard to develop a devotional time when there are so many demands from others. But we can serve others better when we’re operating out of God’s power. People who spend time with God have a profound influence on others.

In Exodus, we read that when Moses would spend time with God, a pillar of cloud would descend to the door of his tent. When Moses came out, his face radiated God’s glory. When the people would see this, they “would rise up and worship, each at his tent door.”

Do your children, husband, or coworkers see the glory of God on your face? Or do they see the frustration of someone trying to do things on her own? When is the last time the presence of God in your life inspired others to worship?

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
