Taste and See

February 7, 2021 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! —Psalm 34:8

It’s one thing to listen to others speak of the wonders of knowing Jesus. It’s quite another to make the effort to go and meet Him for yourself—to see firsthand His vast stores
of wealth, to ask Him your hard questions, to share all that’s on your heart, and to listen intently as He shares with you the secrets of His kingdom. When you’ve met Him in this way, you will understand why His servants consider it their highest joy to stand before Him each day and hear His wisdom.

And when you go back to your place—your home, your job, your neighborhood—you won’t go empty-handed. You will return with more than your hands and heart can contain. For He will give you all the desires of your heart—far more than you ever could have brought to Him.

Have you been relying on secondhand reports about the greatness of God? Why not “taste and see [for yourself] that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8)?
