Daily Reflections: A Daily Digital Devotional

Drawing from His Supply

God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you. I thirst for you. —Psalm 63:1

Ask most Christians how they are, and there’s a good chance they’ll respond, “Exhausted!” I’m convinced that one reason we can’t handle the demands of life is that our spirits are weary. Our souls need to be restored.

Even more reason to be alone with God each day. He has a never-ending supply of strength available that He wants to flow to us. And we need to keep coming back to get replenished.

The demands of a typical day may cause us to fall wearily into bed. But when we awake in the morning, His mercies are new and fresh. If we fail to stop and draw from His infinite supply of mercy and grace, we’ll find ourselves operating out of our own depleted resources.

The psalmist knew what it was to get his soul restored in God’s presence. Many of the Psalms begin with expressions of fear, anger, or frustration. But as he pours out his heart to the Lord, his perspective is changed, and he receives a fresh infusion of supernatural peace and strength.
