The Beauty of Differences

Topics: Womanhood

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Beginning art students quickly learn about complementary colors. These colors appear opposite from one another on a color wheel. When you put them together, you have contrast and completeness. Think of blue and orange together, or the complementary colors used each Christmas—red and green.

The colors look good together because they’re different. Differences reflect order and beauty. It’s true on a color wheel and, more importantly, it’s true in relationships between men and women.

The God who created every color also created men and women with equal worth, value, and dignity before God. And as with complementary colors, God created men and women to be different.

When men and women embrace their differences and use their strengths to serve each other, it is a thing of great beauty. Are you allowing God to use your life as part of a masterpiece for His glory?

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
