Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Every morning I find that a battle begins. Maybe it does for you, too.
Woman: (Sleepy) “Just five more minutes.
Nancy: Will I start my day by meeting with God in His Word and in prayer, or will I let the pillow, the phone, or piles of office work win out?
You see, the enemy of my soul knows that if he can defeat me here, he’ll ultimately be able to defeat me in every other area of my spiritual life. That’s why we need the instruction of the apostle Paul, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Eph. 6:11).
If we concede the battle in the morning, we’ll end up frustrated and ineffective throughout the day. Tomorrow morning, before doing anything else, why don’t you spend some time in prayer and in God’s Word?
