Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Do you ever feel like you’re in an impossible situation? If so, then you can relate to the apostles we read about in Acts 5. They were arrested for preaching the gospel, bound, and thrown in jail. Escape seemed impossible.
But Scripture says that during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out.
The angel said to the apostles, "Go, stand in the temple courts, and tell the people the full message of this new life" (v. 20). It was part of God’s plan to rescue them, and He can do the same thing for you—in His timing.
When we feel locked up in some kind of difficult situation, we can pray something like this: "Lord, if it pleases You in this moment to rescue me from this situation, I know that You can. But if You don't, then I know that You have purposes that are far greater than my immediate comfort."
