Nancy Leigh DeMoss: If you want to learn to love like God, He might take you up on your request.
“Ugh! This new guy at work drives me crazy! I can’t stand being around him.”
Nancy: We’ll never fully learn to love unless there are some people in our lives that we consider irritating. Paul tells us that love is patient. We can’t truly learn that kind of patience unless someone is trying our patience.
When difficult people come into our lives, true love doesn’t focus on how they affect us. Godly love thinks about the other person and their best interests.
So the next time a difficult person comes into your life, recognize it as a chance to learn more about God’s love.
“Lord, would you please help me love this new guy at work?”
