Chambers of Death

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Several years ago a woman wrote me a note that really got my attention.

“I’ve been spending up to 15 hours a day on my computer. I try to escape my lonely, empty marriage. I’ve met a wonderful man in a chat room, and now I’m deciding whether to leave my husband.”

Nancy: I was reminded of the foolish woman that we read about in Proverbs 7. She sees a young man and says, “Come, let’s drink deep of love till morning. . . . My husband is not at home.”

Proverbs goes on to say this about that woman: “Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.”

Don’t let that describe you. There may be some things that you don’t like about your marriage. Take those before the Lord. Let Him satisfy the desires of your heart. God can give you the strength to invest in your marriage and make it better, as you’re seeking Him.

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
